Our Vision
"To follow Jesus with open hearts and open minds
and creating a radically inclusive, just,
and loving faith community
mobilized to alleviate suffering
and break the cycles of poverty, marginalization,
and ecological destruction of the earth
that is God's creation."
Our Mission
I. We do JUSTICE for marginalized persons. II. We do KINDNESS for Elders. We support the people who love and care for them. III. We do BEAUTY for our God-who-is-Beautiful. IV. We do REAL RELATIONSHIP and cultivate beloved community. … and we do whatever it takes to bring this good news to the world God still loves. |
Chalice and Dove in Stained Glass
About the Artist: John Riesland, who coached basketball at Bellingham High School until 1980, took up stained glass upon his retirement with his good friend Larry Greene. It was their delight to create works of beauty for the church, such as this window and the elaborate nativity scene on display each Advent season.
John has passed away, but his wife Brenda continues to be part of Bellingham Disciples via Zoom in Spokane Valley, where she moved to be near their family. Larry continues to make beauty for God Who Is Beautiful in the form of stained-glass figures, sculptures, and Tiffany-style lamps.
Proceeds from these sales support Interfaith Coalition.
