“Spirituality is not to be learned by flight from the world, or by running away from things, or by turning solitary and going apart from the world. Rather, we must learn an inner solitude wherever or with whomsoever we may be. We must learn to penetrate things and find God there.”
― Meister Eckhart
We've noticed something, in recent days...
Many of us spend a lot of time caring for others.
We feed the hungry,
clothe the naked,
give shelter to those in need,
and love our neighbors as...
Oops! We forget to love ourselves.
When we're doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly, we sometimes forget self-care. And self-care is an essential part of life. God built it into the plan from Day One. It came right in the command to "remember the sabbath and keep it holy." We are to honor God with a day of worship. But, this is also a time of reflection, reconnection with the holy, and rest and restoration for ourselves.
Here, at First Christian, you are invited to find that essential restoration and reconnection. You are invited to walk a journey of faith that not only serves God by loving God's people and God's creation, but tends to those innermost needs of our being.
Join us at FCC, Bellingham, where you will find both an exciting place to follow Jesus and a safe home for your heart.
